Home » Bio Bio: About Owen Rohu From a very early age Owen knew he would spend his life painting. So keen was he to get started that at the age of twelve he enrolled in an adult education art class! That early interest took a twist when he was recruited straight from art college to work in the animation industry as a background artist. After some years with the Bluth Studios in Dublin, he was contracted to work for Fox Animation Studios in Phoenix, Arizona. Inspired by the thriving art scene in Arizona Owen began painting at night and studied in the prestigious Scottsdale Art School. Eager to see more of the world, Owen and his wife moved to Sydney, Australia to take up a position with Walt Disney Studios. Owen continued painting in his spare time and exhibiting in Sydney. In 2002 he decided to return to Ireland to devote his time to painting. He now lives in the West of Ireland and exhibits with galleries in Dublin, Clifden, Cork and Westport. His paintings are held privately in Ireland, Australia and the U.S.A.
